Because of the close proximity of the Resurrection Bay sockeye salmon fishery to our processing facility, these tasty fish are processed, and frozen within hours of being caught, yielding some of the freshest most well cared for red salmon fillets on the planet.
Wild Alaska Chinook (King) Salmon
Chinook salmon or king salmon as they are widely known boast a tender oily flesh that is unrivaled by so called Atlantic king salmon or other farmed salmon. These fish are called kings for a reason – as they can grow up to 100 pounds. Unlike many Alaska commercial salmon fisheries, fishing for king salmon goes on almost year round. In summer kings are netted with many other species of Alaska Salmon but in the winter King salmon are troll caught in Southeast Alaska providing the fish markets with a steady supply of bright ocean-fresh king salmon.
